Bed Races

Ready for one of the most fun and creative competitions around?

Bed Races are exactly what they sound like — teams build and decorate a bed on wheels and race it down the track! It’s fast, creative, and full of energy as teams compete for speed, style, and crowd excitement.

How It Works

Each team consists of 5 people:

4 runners who push the bed

1 rider who lies on the bed during the race

Teams are encouraged to decorate their bed and dress in a theme to make the race even more entertaining.

Build Your Race Bed

Beds must meet a few simple guidelines:

• Minimum size 3 ft x 6 ft (twin, full, or queen)
• Maximum 6 ft x 8 ft including handles
• Must include a mattress, headboard, and footboard
• Must have four functional wheels
• No motors or mechanical assistance

Race Day

• All beds will be inspected for safety
• Riders must lay flat on the bed
• Runners must stay in control of the bed at all times
• Teams will race in bracket-style heats
